| To open the Options dialog you can either
click Tools | Options... in the main menu or select Options...
in the tray menu if Tray Agent is active.
There are two pages in the options dialog: General contains
common settings, while Connection page contains network related
options.

Start options
Start automatically
when the system starts.
This option controls the auto-starting of SySpeed and activates
two other sub-options:
Start wizard.
If it is selected, SySpeed wizard window is displayed on the screen
right after the system start.
Show only icon in tray.
If ON, this option minimizes SySpeed into the system tray (enables
tray agent) when the system just started and SySpeed run.
Auto-check for available upgrade.
Notify the user, if upgrade is available for download.
Disable the “Check Optimization Effectiveness”
Procedure.
At start time user is asked to Check Optimization Effectiveness,
if it was not performed before. Check this option if you want to
get rid of that question at start time. It also might be useful
to disable that procedure when it started, and due to some reason
it cannot be finished.
System check
Warn if some parameters were not applied
during the last optimization.
After optimization system has to be restarted in order to apply
new network settings. If the option is ON, as soon as SySpeed is
started, it performs some tests to find out how new optimized parameters
were applied. If it finds out that some parameters are not applied,
or are different from expected values, warning is displayed to inform
the user about it.
Warn about problem with Vtcp.386 file
(for Windows 98 & SE only).
If the option is ON, at start time SySpeed checks for that problem
and warn the user if it is detected.

Tray Agent
Enable tray agent.
This option enables tray agent if ON.
Connection options

Ping
Ping timeout affects
all ping operations: connection checking, connection quality test
etc.
Default value is 1 second. In case of low connection stability it
can be increased up to 5 seconds.
Download
All the options in this section control download test, which is
a part of connection speed test.
Download timeout
specifies the time of waiting for the response. If no response has
received during that time, download fails with “request time out”
error.
Default value is 2 seconds. Can be increased up to 10 seconds.
Download limit specifies
the size of data, which should be downloaded during a single download
operation in order to estimate a downloading speed.
Default value is Auto. Which means that the size is controlled automatically,
accordingly to known information about the connection speed. Other
values specify the exact size for download operations. No limit
option tells SySpeed to download all available data, no matter how
big the file is. This option should be used with care, because the
size of a single file could be from several hundreds kilobytes up
to several megabytes. That is why “unlimited” downloading could
be a disaster for slow Internet connection.
Test count specifies
how many times to perform downloading during the download test.
Default value is 15.
Upload
All the options in this section control upload test, which is a
part of connection speed test.
Upload timeout specifies
the time of waiting for the response. If no response has received
during that time, upload fails with “request time out” error.
Default value is 2 seconds. Can be increased up to 10 seconds.
Upload limit specifies
the size of data, which should be uploaded during a single upload
operation in order to estimate an uploading speed.
Default value is Auto. Which means that the size is controlled automatically,
accordingly to known information about the connection speed. Other
values specify the exact size for upload operations.
Test count
specifies how many times to perform uploading during the upload
test.
Default value is 15.
Select address automatically / Use
the custom address.
This option can be used to set custom address for upload test. To
do that, you need to select Use the custom address checkbox and
type the HTTP address of the web site, which can be used for uploading.
This site must have public access to some web folder with permissions
to create, to write and to delete files.
